At Horse Tree Animal Rescue, our mission is clear: to rescue and rehabilitate farm animals in need, providing them with loving, permanent homes. We are deeply committed to fostering compassion and respect for all living beings. Through education, advocacy, and hands-on care, we strive to create a more humane and sustainable world by connecting animals with caring families.

Horse Tree Animal Rescue was born out of a pressing need to offer rescue services and educate the public about farm animals. We work tirelessly to rescue animals from abuse cases, abandonment, and slaughter, giving them a second chance at life. Thousands of farm animals suffer from neglect and mistreatment, and we are determined to be their voice and sanctuary.

As an all-volunteer organization, we operate solely on tax-deductible donations to our 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. We receive no government funding, so the support of our community is vital to our work. Currently, we care for over 100 animals, and their well-being depends entirely on the generosity of people like you.

Your donations and volunteer efforts are essential to keeping our animals safe, healthy, and happy. Whether you're able to contribute financially, volunteer your time, or simply spread the word about our mission, every bit of support helps. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these animals and work towards a future where all creatures are treated with the compassion and respect they deserve.

Meet Milo

Milo and his mother were confiscated for neglect by animal control along with 30 other farm animals, forced to live on 1/2 acre lot.  Milo was less than 2 weeks old when we picked him up to foster him while the court case was going on.  He had a bad eye injury that had not been treated. We had the vet out asap to treat Milo, that treatment was just over $700.

We worked with another rescue that had taken all the other animals on the property.  After 2 yrs, the animals were all signed over to the rescue.  Milo has since found a loving home, and doesn’t seem to have any vision issues.

Meet Zaida

Zaida was born on the farm, a day after her mom Olive was rescued from a trailer headed to slaughter.  Zaida’s mom was packed into a long trailer full of horses that had been purchased at an auction for cheap by Kill Buyers who make their money selling horses to the slaughter houses in Mexico and Canada. When we walked by the trailer and saw Olive packed in with milk dripping from her, we knew we had to get her off that trailer.  The kill buyer said that if we paid him double what he paid for her, he would take her off the trailer and we could take her.  For $120 that night, 2 lives were saved.  Zaida’s mom was adopted by a retired couple who wanted a pasture companion for their older horse, and Zaida became a permanent resident of our farm. She loves everyone, and everyone loves her. She makes sure of it.
